Network Stability & Wireless Warehouse

Speed Shore was experiencing problems stemming from poor network architecture design. Moreover, there were efficiency opportunities not receiving appropriate focus.

Several different computer vendors had serviced their systems, resulting in the lack of an integrated and strategic approach to network computing.

Speed Shore had multiple servers in different NT domains that made interconnectivity problematic. This required various "work-a-rounds" at the desktop level that were performed by in-house personnel at the expense of employee productivity.

Speed Shore turned to RSA for immediate problem resolution and a strategy to improve network availability and services.

RSA Responds

RSA first set out to understand the business processes and application portfolio utilized by Speed Shore.

To resolve the ongoing problems, RSA executed a comprehensive infrastructure migration to consolidate all of the servers into a single domain. The domain was then upgraded to Windows Server 2003 to provide reliability, security and scalability.

RSA has also implemented secure wireless access for the large warehouse and manufacturing areas to allow for real-time communication between departments from marketing and sales to fulfillment and accounting.

When Speed Shore had an urgent need for custom application design to support training provided to governmental agencies, RSA responded on short notice with experts who quickly familiarized themselves with the Visual Manufacturing System utilized by Speed Shore and created routines to run the necessary reports in time for the training delivery.

RSA restructured Speed Shore's information technology so that employees can focus on their job duties rather than technology problems
