RSA helps Raus Construction to reduce business risk while enhancing business efficiency.

Raus Construction, a $20 million per year construction firm, was suffering due to a poorly integrated peer-to-peer communications network. Problem areas included poor network performance, the lack of central file repository and back up process, the absence of real-time collaboration, and the need for a more robust computing platform to allow all employees access to network resources.

To improve their ability for timely communication between job-sites and business groups, Raus looked to RSA for alternatives and improvements.

RSA Responds

RSA reviewed and analyzed the business processes and recommended a comprehensive infrastructure realignment. The project included true client/server communication with central file storage and routine backups, live collaboration via email and Microsoft® messaging, as well as implementing networking enhancements to increase the rate of information flow throughout the company.

RSA worked closely with Raus's vendors to improve service levels and support. In one such joint effort, the entire DOS-based accounting system was successfully replaced with the Timberline system, which offered a more robust platform appropriate for their needs.

RSA also has assisted in implementing a high-volume electronic faxing system to facilitate the bid solicitation processes. As a result, the employee time required on every invitation to bid has been reduced from several hours to less than 15 minutes, allowing employees to focus on their other job functions.

Today, Raus Construction has a very stable and scalable infrastructure that allows employees to make the most efficient use of their time. RSA has mitigated business risks in terms of the information technology used to support their business processes.
