DXP Enterprises, Inc.
Data Communications Infrastructure
Over the years, DXP outgrew its data communications infrastructure, which had evolved through acquisition and business growth to support operations in 13 states and over 100 locations.
RSA Responds
RSA first documented all aspects of the existing communications network: from local routers and switches at the headquarters location all the way to individual end-points, including a one-man sales office.
The second step was to work with DXP management to define their current and future needs.
The final step was to use the information gathered to develop an architecture for a new communication network that could be implemented through evolutionary steps rather than by dismantling and replacing what currently existed.
RSA Results
With the documentation, plan and architecture delivered by RSA, DXP is in a position to incrementally improve their communications infrastructure as existing contracts expire or new sites are added.
In this manner, DXP avoids the hefty termination penalties from their communications carriers, and receives the benefit of understanding in detail what currently exists and having a clear plan for what their communications network will look like in the future.
