SMB's face most of the same problems . . . and opportunities . . . that large corporations do, but are less likely to have the in-house resources necessary to address the problems and / or capitalize on the opportunities.
One of the major difficulties confronting a Small / Medium Business (SMB) is knowing where to turn to gain a quick grasp of approaches and potential solutions when confronted technology issues, such as problems with systems, data, and voice communications.
SMB employees often spend valuable time identifying whom to engage to address a problem or selecting the solution that appears to be the most expedient . . . even if it might not be the best fit.
RSA provides complete IT infrastructure support services for Small / Medium Businesses.
Examples of SMB Challenges
One client needed to send a team of engineers to the Ukraine for a year to work on a project with a sister company. Their challenge was to provide cost-efficient voice communications between remote team members and corporate HQ in Houston.
Another client needed to replace old and antiquated call center, order handling, fulfillment, and inventory control system with something more robust to support the growth of the organization. The client had received a proposal for a replacement system at a cost of $500,000. They wanted to know if this was reasonable".
Yet another client needed to monitor and record the temperatures in three climate controlled warehouses on a 24x7 basis. They had been using "chart recorders" that required maintenance and monitoring.
RSA Solutions
To provide voice communications, RSA engineered a communications solution that allowed the Houston HQ telephone extensions of the Ukraine team members to automatically route to their offices in the Ukraine. In addition, the solution provided the Ukraine team with local telephone numbers that would surface on the Houston HQ PBX as extensions. The entire solution took advantage of Internet communications technologies so that the trans-continental calls would be toll free.
RSA engaged to review the call center upgrade proposal and was able to recommend a solution that utilized the same call center software, but was less than half as expensive.
To replace the paper "chart recorders" RSA designed and implemented a network of digital temperature recorders that allowed any monitoring point in any warehouse to be viewed from any authorized network PC. This provided the client with cost-savings for the labor of changing the charts on a daily basis as well as for the collection and storage of all temperature history. The implementation was so successful that the manufacturer of the digital temperature recorders developed a commercial version of based on RSA's reference design.
RSA - A SMB's Best Friend
In each case above, RSA's client benefited because they trusted their problem to RSA and focused again on building and running their businesses. RSA assumed the responsibility for the research, design, and preliminary evaluation, saving the client's valuable time and effort.
