For 25 years, this company has been providing construction services in Texas. It specializes in job order contracting, design-build and competitively selected preferred construction services. It began constructing shopping centers and retail facilities in 1982 and continues to serve many of those same clients today. It performed mostly public sector work through the 80s and has since expanded to the private sector. Later, it added facility maintenance and repair as a specialty and broadened its market to the semiconductor industry.
This construction company is a rapidly growing business that began experiencing technology growing pains. Project managers and office support staff were required to use a mixture of applications with no integration to perform their job duties. The lack of an effective means of centralized file storage, resource permissions and access control, and standardization of desktop and laptop application portfolios had a negative impact on business and morale.
Other immediate problems requiring remediation included:

A secure and stable model for using point-to-point communications between remote offices was created to be easily expanded to accommodate business growth.
Because we replaced non-integrated applications with a comprehensive software solution and recommended and configured new servers to support that software, a scalable infrastructure was created. We also worked closely with the company’s vendor to assist with data conversion from the various software packages, including accounting, estimating and project management. When the vendor fell short of expectations, RSA Corp performed all of the data migration and met the go-live deadline.
The stability and functionality of the documents management system was enhanced, and access was given to the company’s clients for collaboration. This availability of project-specific documents strongly differentiates this construction company from its competitors.
